The MasterTech Jones Stain Kit differs from this procedure by using Nuclear Fast Red as a counterstain instead of Light Green, which provides better contrast. A Methenamine Silver Developer Solution serves as the primary stain, with Gold Chloride toning the tissue sections, producing gray to black basement membranes and reticulum fibers against a pink to red background with red nuclei, counterstained by Nuclear Fast Red.
