Bouin's Fluid is a good lymph node and glycogen fixative as well as a superior trichome stain mordant. With Bouin's Fluid, soft and delicate structures are preserved and trichrome stains will be brilliant with color while demonstrating crisp nuclear detail. Bouin's Fluid is also an excellent fixative to use on biopsy specimens of the gastrointestinal tract because the nuclear staining is superior to 10% formalin. Can't stand the smell of Bouin's Fluid?
