Temporary Oil Surcharge

The ongoing conflict in Iran has created significant disruption across global energy markets and supply chains, driven primarily by constrained oil supply routes.

Because of continued investments in domestic manufacturing, we are well-insulated from supply impact in the US, and as of this time are not expecting disruption in availability. However, we are already beginning to absorb sharp and rapid price increases across key raw materials, driven by the near doubling of oil prices since the beginning of March. Many products used in pathology laboratories are derivatives of petroleum, creating a ripple effect through the supply chain driven by the increases in oil prices.

While StatLab will continue to absorb many of these increases to minimize impact to labs, beginning April 1st, a temporary oil surcharge will appear on invoices containing xylene or alcohol. This fee will appear as a separate line item on affected invoices and will reflect a small portion of the increases. This is subject to change as the volatile environment continues to evolve. Right now no changes will be made to customer product pricing, allowing us to quickly turn off this surcharge when the conflict resolves and prices stabilize near previous levels.

As always, thank you for trusting StatLab. We’re proud to support your lab with products that are not only high-performing but thoughtfully and sustainably produced at StatLab plants in the U.S. and Europe by team members who care.
